Background
Originally established in 2011 as Under Our Wing—following a life-changing trip to an orphanage in Romania—the organization was deeply inspired by Dr. Jacqueline Natalie de Vegvar’s personal experiences and her rediscovery of her grandfather’s remarkable, yet rarely discussed, legacy. Baron Francisc Neuman de Vegvar, a visionary leader and philanthropist from the renowned Neuman family of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Romania, had been uprooted by communism and remained largely silent about his past.
In 2025, the organization was renamed to directly honor Baron Neuman de Vegvar, reflecting a renewed commitment to preserving and continuing the family’s enduring legacy of compassion, resilience, and service.
Through strategic partnerships and innovative programs, the Foundation empowers communities by fostering sustainable development and creating meaningful opportunities for those in need.
